My Music

Hey people, this is a post about one of my favorite songs! Music can be very powerful, and cause someone to feel certain emotions when they hear that song.
Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul.
Music is enough for a lifetime, but a lifetime is not enough for music"

Everyone has a song that causes them to feel a certain emotion or think of a scene from a movie or show they have seen before. For me, that song is Desperado by Clint Black. This song is full of meaning. It is telling a man that he needs to let someone love him before it's too late for anyone to love him. The air is almost disappointing, but in the disappointment, there is still hope. I feel that this video really captures the emotion in the song. The clips in the video are from the show Supernatural. The video is about a man who gets close to people but when they start to love him, he manages to end it. He and his brother are always on the move. watch the movie and see if you can catch all of the metaphors and meaning in the song Desperado. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GeYol0Gch0

Interpretation

My song, Desperado, is a slow song that makes me feel calm and somewhat hopeful. When I hear other slow songs like this one I feel the same way. A song that comes to mind is Faith of the Heart, by Rod Stewart. This song is full of hope and trusting your heart. Both of these songs are slow and hopeful, and at some point have a very, climatic, dramatic part. Desperado relates to some of my life experiences because the one verse:
"Dont your feet get cold in the wintertime
The sky wont snow and the sun wont shine
Its hard to tell the nighttime from the day
And youre losin all your highs and lows
Aint it funny how the feelin goes away"
is telling Desperado that he's not the only one to feel like this and when he doesn't let anyone in, things might happen that he isn't used to or doesn't want to happen. In this song, the guitar and the voice of the singer balance very well. The singer's voice is the main thing you hear, but when it crescendos, the guitar follows, creating a very powerful feeling in the listener.

A New Verse

Here are the original lyrics to the song Desperado. The verse that I have written is the one following the star. Hope you enjoy it! If you have any suggestions to make it better, just tell me!

Desperado
Why don't you come to your senses
Ben out ridin' fences, for so long now
Oh, you're a hard one
But I know that you got your reasons
These things that are pleasin' you
Can hurt you somehow

Don't you draw the queen of diamonds boy
Shell beat you if shes able
You know the queen of hearts is always your best bet
But it seems to me some fine things have been laid upon your table
But you only want the ones you cant get

Desperado
Oh, you ain't gettin' no younger
Your pain and your hunger, they're drivin' you home
And freedom, oh freedom, well that's just some people talkin' Your prison is walkin' through this world all alone

Don't your feet get cold in the wintertime
The sky wont snow and the sun wont shine
Its hard to tell the nighttime from the day
And you're losin' all your highs and lows
Ain't it funny how the feelin' goes away

*Desperado
*Your heart won't hold up much longer
*You need to fill that hunger, and fill it real fast
*Your heart is hollow, so hollow, and it is hurtin so bad,
*You're not gonna make it in this world on your own

*You feel so lonely all the time,
*Though you lie and say you feel just fine
*When down inside you know that your just in pain
*Now you know just what you have to do
*You have to let somebody in with you today

Desperado
Why dont you come to your senses
Come down from those fences, open the gate
It may be rainin, but theres a rainbow above you
You better let somebody love you, let somebody love you
You better let somebody love you
Before its too late
